Hi, I’m Nicki Gelfand

As a Board-Certified Music Therapist, my 8+ years of work has equipped me with far more than the run-of-the-mill communication skills.

I’m trained to track multiple layers of human behavior in real time by facilitating groups while reading nonverbal cues, emotional shifts, and relational dynamics, all while playing and conducting music. This means I’m continuously adapting and responding to the living ecosystem of the room, while participating in it.

In psychiatric inpatient settings, I support individuals in acute states using nervous system regulation, de-escalation techniques, and self-insight driven interventions. My work also spans outpatient mental health, hospice, and memory care settings working intimately with families, facilities, and healthcare agencies. Each environment and relationship requires precision, adaptability, and attunement to unique needs.

Today, I bring my expert communication, adaptable nature, and goal implementation into corporate spaces. My group facilitation is experiential and grounded in real-world application—equipping teams with the ability to communicate clearly, navigate tension, and work together more effectively. My workshops consistently receive strong feedback for improving team cohesion, psychological safety, and overall culture.
